Testing the winch, VIC 96 at Chatham Maritime
The steam is the exhaust from the anchor winch on the preserved "puffer" style inshore cargo vessel VIC 96. In 2009 the restored vessel was steamed from Maryport to Chatham - an epic voyage. The motor tug Kent is in the foreground and is also an historic vessel with a 5 cylinder, 2-stroke British Polar diesel of 880 horsepower.
