Lavenham War Memorial in the Market Place
March 2010. A Lavenham soldier dies in Afghanistan. Lance Corporal of Horse Jonathan Woodgate of the Household Cavalry was killed in a grenade attack while on foot patrol near Sangin. Spring flowers were laid on Lavenham War Memorial in the Market Place as villagers and friends paid their respects to the highly regarded young officer from the village.
