The dual carriageway section of the Belfast/Dundonald – Newtownards Road (looking towards Belfast) from the footbridge J4274 : Footbridge, Dundonald at Brooklands Road. Around 50 years ago there was a plan for the M7 motorway, from Belfast to Dundonald, from which this road would have been a non-motorway extension. The M7 never went beyond the “dream” stage.
