Boyne and bridge at Trim
Boyne and bridge at Trim
Looking downstream from Watergate Bridge to the bridge at Bridge Street, Trim. In the recently published 'Medieval Trim', Potterton suggests that the four-arched bridge dates to the 14th century, built possibly after 1330 when the bridge at Trim was swept away in a flood. In the background is the Yellow Steeple, the seven-storey tower of the church of the Augustinian St. Mary's Abbey
