Disused quarry above Llaneglwys Uchaf
This quarry was opened by the Forestry Commission for roadstone for the forestry tracks. It is in the Upper Ludlow of the Silurian, a formation now called the Aberedw Formation (the name only appears at the moment on the BGS 1: 50 000 Builth Wells sheet, not on the Brecon sheet on which this exposure is.) It lies below the also newly named Cae'r Mynach Formation and is made up of siltstone and sandstone. Although massive, it laminates into thin sheets.
