NN9162 : The Pass of Killiecrankie

taken 14 years ago, near to Killiecrankie, Perth And Kinross, Scotland

The Pass of Killiecrankie
The Pass of Killiecrankie
In the bottom of the narrow Pass is the River Garry, with exposed gravel banks due to the unusually dry year to date; to the left is the single track of the Perth to Inverness railway line. High on the slopes in the distance is the elevated section of dual carriageway built as part of the upgrading and realignment of the A9. The old A9 lies hidden in the trees, lower down the Pass.
