The main room in this castle at the third storey level has a dated fireplace of 1604 with the initials W. H. It stands almost 70 feet in height to the top of the corner turrets within remnants of a 60m square bawn. It belonged to the MacHuberts, and then to the MacRedmonds, both branches of the Burkes.
