NN6321 : Ardvorlich Hydro Scheme Dam

taken 14 years ago, near to Ardvorlich, Perth And Kinross, Scotland

Ardvorlich Hydro Scheme Dam
Ardvorlich Hydro Scheme Dam
Intake structure and dam being constructed on the Ardvorlich Burn where the path up to Ben Vorlich crosses it. The dam will enable the capture of water from the burn for the run-of-river Ardvorlich Hydro Scheme being built as of the date of the picture. The scheme is rated at 700kW capacity. Pipes from this and two other intake points will convey captured water to a Pelton wheel turbine installed in a new power house being constructed further down the hill on the site of a ruined mill.
