Cloddiau (plural of clawdd), earth filled, stone faced banks, are generally thought to be characteristic of west and north Wales, as of Devon and Cornwall - but in the past there were many on the higher areas of farmland in mid Wales. They are often not, or barely, recognisable, but this one is.
