TQ3643 : Colour Variation

taken 14 years ago, near to Newchapel, Surrey, England

Colour Variation
Colour Variation
Two reds squirrels (Sciurus vulgaris) at the British Wildlife Centre. Note the contrast in the colouration; the one in the foreground has a tail which is dark brown, almost black, whilst the background squirrel is a uniform orange. According to the Keepers at the centre, this is a natural variation in the colour.
