TG2306 : The Easterling at Norwich

taken 14 years ago, near to Lakenham, Norfolk, England

The Easterling at Norwich
The Easterling at Norwich
On time arriving at Norwich, I only just made this one. The LMS black five 44932 covering for ill 70013 Oliver Cromwell. The safety valves are blowing full whack, this was frowned upon in steam days.

This is the second time the locomotive has been to Norwich this year, the last trip only being on the 29th August TG2406 : Black Five 44932 on the Cathedrals Express. The train is hauled by a diesel to Lowestoft before I will pick it up at Beccles.
*Sadly this didn't happen as the locomotive failed at Norwich. A class 37 diesel was called from Ilford to haul the train back to London.
