The Quoile, looking very low after a dry spell during most of October. With today’s heavy rain it might soon return to “normal” J4846 : Floodgates, River Quoile (2) or J4846 : The Quoile in flood (1).

Quoile floodgates, Downpatrick

The floodgates date from 1935 and replaced earlier gates installed in 1802 and 1745. They are immediately downstream of the Quoile Bridge.
