Former ferry terminal, Belfast (7)
See J3474 : Former ferry terminal, Belfast (6). The former Donegall Quay ferry terminal (and City Quays development site) occupies the area to the right of the “Obel” Tower. The “Express” is laid up, for the winter, at a berth latterly used by the Isle of Man ferry and previously by the “Seacat” services to Heysham, Troon and Stranraer.
City Quays, Belfast

A large-scale redevelopment of an area of disused harbour land (including the former Donegall Quay ferry terminal), on the seaward side of the cross-harbour bridges.
It includes three office buildings, a hotel and a multi-storey car park.
The third office building (CQ3) received planning permission on 5 February 2019 “City Quays 3 - erection of 16 storey office accommodation (74 metres maximum height) comprising 23,976 sq metres of gross floorspace, associated access, public realm and other ancillary development. Lands approximately 100m north of M3 Cross Harbour Bridge and bounded by the River Lagan to the east Donegall Quay and Clarendon Dock to the north Corporation Square and Clarendon Quay to the west”.
The P&O "Express" laid up at Belfast
The P&O high-speed ferry “Express” operates a seasonal service between Larne and Troon/Cairnryan. During the winter she is laid up at Belfast. Until 2012 the practice was to use the old ferry terminal at Donegall Quay. With redevelopment of the area likely to start in early 2014 the old Stena berth at the Albert Quay (slightly further downstream) was used in 2013.
