SO8405 : Stroud viaduct

taken 18 years ago, near to Stroud, Gloucestershire, England

Stroud viaduct
Stroud viaduct
Part of the viaduct that carries Brunel's Golden Valley line into Stroud. Since it was built the land around it has been built up; the road itself (the A46 bypass) was built since WW2, and the multi-storey car park on the right looks very recent. This means that the viaduct now seems to squeeze between the houses, and bits of it crop up in various different views.
