Neidpath Castle, Peebles
The castle was built in the 14th century by the Hay family, later passing to the Duke of Queensberry. Now it is owned by the Earl of Wemyss, and is open to the public only on limited occasions. More on the history of the castle with interior photographs can be seen at
Link.
I think castles like this look at their best in appropriately wintry weather with a touch of snow and overcast sky.
