NZ0314 : Sunrise on the snowy fields of Boldron

taken 13 years ago, near to Boldron, County Durham, England

Sunrise on the snowy fields of Boldron
Although most of the local field boundary hedges have been left to become gappy and in some cases, they have disappeared entirely, the fields still have their medieval ridges and furrows, and ditches and banks, punctuated by hedgerow trees such as this Ash, casting its sunrise shadow across the (almost) pristine snows on the meadow. There are a few tracks from sheep trying to find shelter from the cold, but the one that crosses this view is from the dog (whose walk this was) who has no respect for a photographer's composition.
