The road had been treated and was clear of snow. Traffic seemed to be lighter than usual. The view is towards Bangor with Sydenham station on the right.
Snow, east Belfast - 3 December 2010 :: J3774

Belfast had escaped the heavy snowfalls which affected the west and much of GB. There was a fall overnight and on the morning of 3 December. The unpleasantly cold north/north east wind seemed to have gone making it feel much warmer than earlier in the week.

The Sydenham bypass, Belfast

Approximately 2 miles of dual carriageway forming part of the Belfast Bangor Road. It runs from the end of the M3 to Tillysburn, parallel to the Belfast Bangor railway and also serves the George Best Belfast City Airport. It replaced the Holywood Road as the main road to Holywood and Bangor. There are plans for major improvements at the junction with Dee Street.
