Steam tug Portwey - engine room
Portwey was built in 1927 by Harland & Wolff Ltd of Govan as yard No. 786G. She is of 94 grt. Propulsion is by a pair of inverted vertical compound steam engines by D & W Henderson & Co Ltd, Partick. They are 11" & 22" x 15" and good for 330 indicated horsepower at 120 rpm. They are maintained in full working order.
