Cambridge Gas Engines
Cambridge Gas Engines
These gas engines were installed in 1909 to deal with storm water. When the steam pumping engines couldn't cope these two could be started in 10-15 minutes to transfer sewage to holding tanks nearby. They are in working order but sadly the volunteers didn't have time today. The handle to the left is used to get the flywheel in the correct starting position.
