Loch Lomond Statue
Loch Lomond Statue
Locally believed to commemorate a young boy who drowned in the loch in the late 19th century, it is widely identified as having been placed there by a stonemason, one William Kerr, in remembrance of his happy childhood in Luss.
It was repeatedly knocked off its pedestal by pleasure boats until a military engineer unit cemented it in place around 1970. The hill to the left is on mainland, the island to the right is Inchtavannach.
