Newry Ship Canal near Clady quarry

Slightly nearer Newry than J0923 : Newry ship canal near Dromalane this section of the Newry Ship Canal shows signs of pondweed common on still waters during the summer. Apparently it is not possible to remove it by suction. It can be controlled (but not prevented) by the use of a boom. Although the canal has potential for leisure use it is used infrequently.
