Completed my trio, three of the LMS Coronation Class survive. Two have steamed but this example, 46235 has been on display at the ex Birmingham science museum and here in Thinktank. 46235 was originally built in 1939 at Crewe, and entered LMS stock in July 1939. Like Duchess of Hamilton and others she was originally streamlined SE5952 : No. 6229 Duchess of Hamilton in re-streamlined condition, on display at the National Railway Museum in York. She was repainted into BR Brunswick Green livery from April 1953. She carried this last livery through withdrawal in September 1964 and through into preservation.
Originally being homed in the Birmingham Museum of Science and Industry (closed 1997) she is now in the Thinktank.
