The 'Stena Voyager' arriving at Belfast
The 'Stena Voyager' arriving at Belfast
The high speed ferry 'Stena Voyager' LinkExternal link approaching Belfast with another sailing from Stranraer. A victim of spiralling oil prices, the Voyager is no longer commercially viable on this route. Stena have confirmed that the ferry will be retired from service in late 2011 and two new ferries will begin operation from Belfast to the new Stena terminal at Cairnryan. The 'Stena Caledonia' LinkExternal link and 'Stena Navigator' LinkExternal link will also be withdrawn. The Voyager is likely to end up like her sister ship the 'Stena Discovery' LinkExternal link - a lengthy lay-up whilst a buyer can be found.
