Remnants of a sea cave
The crag shown here is a raised beach, and the hollow is what is left of a sea cave.

Just around the corner is another opening, which is narrower, but which extends further back into the rock: NS3875 : Havoc Hole; in that photograph, the sea cave appears as a rounded orange-red hollow on the left.

For further context, see NS3875 : Havoc Hole.
Havoc Hole (cave)

This cave, also known as Wallace's Cave, Dumbarton Cave, or Havock Hole (the authentic older spelling), is a feature of a raised beach, about 450 metres from the present-day Clyde shoreline at Havoc, Dumbarton. The area takes its name from Havock, a farmstead which was located at NS37937541, close to the shore. See a Geograph article Link for more on the cave.
