Subways through the Winnall M3 junction (J9)
When the A33 Winchester bypass was upgraded to the M3 in 1985, two subways and connecting paths were built to allow access between the two sections of Easton Lane that had been divided by the new motorway.

Although the route has been in continuous use by cyclists and pedestrians since then, when an approach was made to the Highways Agency about signing National Cycle Route 23 through the ways, they rejected the request.
