The former lead mine can be seen to the left, it followed a lead vein into the hill before leading miners to other veins. The veins formed when faults meant hydrothermal fluids could rise up and precipitate out the minerals (Galena, Calcite and Barytes). The minerals being dissolved from the shales above.
