Cave Dale Lava
Cave Dale Lava
A small outcrop of poorly columnar basalt, roughly 20m thick. This particular section is 'massive' although some is amygdaloidal (the vesicles or air bubbles have been infilled with a mineral after cooling, like calcite). This distinguishes different lava flows.
