NR4352 : Drovers' Path, Islay

taken 13 years ago, 3 km from Ardtalla, Islay, Argyll And Bute, Scotland

Drovers' Path, Islay
Drovers' Path, Islay
This path was used by drovers to drive cattle from the north of the island to the south where they were transported across to Kintyre. The area is pretty featureless, but beautiful.

The photograph is taken looking north towards Gleann Leņra (possibly a derivation of 'leņir', meaning 'enough' or 'plenty' which would translate roughly as Glen of Plenty - a rather pretty name I think.)
