C0028 : Muckish Triangulation Pillar

taken 13 years ago, 6 km WSW of Creeslough, Co Donegal, Ireland

Muckish Triangulation Pillar
Muckish Triangulation Pillar
Trig pillar on top of Muckish Mountain in Donegal. Not actually shown on the OSI Discovery Sheet 2, the pillar stands at 666 metres above MSL. It is in excellent condition with stunning views in all directions possible in clear weather. Bright, but hazy, I could spot the peaks of Errigal, Bloody Foreland, Croaghnamaddy and Loughsalt. A typical OSI pillar, there is no flush bracket - see C0028 : Muckish Triangulation Pillar [detail] for an image of the pillar top.
