Beinn Spionnaidh can be seen on the far right hand side behind the Croft in-between the tree & the first chimney. The smaller hill on the right directly behind the Croft is Meall Meadhonach.
From his early years John would holiday at a croft in Durness with his cousin Stan Parkes. The young Lennon adored running free in the seven acres of land attached to the croft and came to Scotland as often as he could. Stan's stepfather’s family owned a croft in Durness where the family would spend the summer. Every year until he was 17 John would travel by bus and spend three weeks at the croft.
