An Historic Day
On 2 July 2011, in Holyrood Park, the Queen presented new colours to most of the battalions that make up the Royal Regiment of Scotland. The old colours held by the antecedent regiments were paraded and marched off for the last time to be laid up all over Scotland. This image shows a colour party with the old colours on display and the new colours carried in cases. This event will never be repeated - a unique event.
