Wigtown Show is Galloway’s longest running agricultural show and the oldest in Scotland. This year the 200th Bicentenary Show took place on the 3rd August 2011 at Bladnoch Park, Wigtown and was attended by HRH The Princess Royal who met locals and the show committee before presenting long service awards in the main arena.
As well as a variety of attractions and entertainment throughout the day, some of the best livestock from all over south-west Scotland and beyond were showcased in the main arenas. This year also hosted the Galloway Cattle Society's National Show as part of the show day. Together with show jumping competitions, a dog show, a fantastic poultry show and a wide range of exhibitor and trade stands including the very best in locally produced food and crafts, there were also lots of activities to see and do for those who visited the show, which turned out to be one of the busiest in recent years.
