Shoreline with glacial erratics
Shoreline with glacial erratics
Large boulders lying on the shore here are glacial erratics of sandstone. The highest, driest part of the boulders is covered with brilliant yellow Caloplaca lichens, possibly fertilised by perching birds. The sheltered sea behind the long line of dunes has a rich growth of seaweeds.
