Tank engine, Swindon and Cricklade Railway, Blunsdon (1 of 2)
The pannier tank engine number 3650 is on loan from Didcot Railway Centre having been restored from a virtual wreck by a dedicated team of enthusiasts led by Kevin Dare. The engine was built in Swindon in 1939 and was in service until 1963. It was rescued in 1969 and was initially used as a source of spares for another restoration project. Restoration of 3650 didn't start properly until 1984 and it has taken until very recently to raise it to running condition. There is a wealth of information about the history of the engine on Kevin's website which is dedicated to 3650
