This is the unique vertical cross compound engine from Denby Dale that has been shown in earlier stages of construction - SD7009 : Bolton Steam Museum - erectors at work SD7009 : Bolton Steam Museum, last engine coming together.. I played a small role in its removal in the late 1970s and am absolutely delighted to see it re-erected and steamable after all these years. This museum has been created by the Northern Mill Engine Society and has one of the best collections of textile mill related steam engines to be found anywhere.
