Repair work on the Queen Elizabeth Bridge. According to the official statement: "The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge was built almost 50 years ago and carries eastbound traffic from Belfast city centre to East Belfast. The work includes replacing existing bridge joints and localised concrete repairs, as well as waterproofing and resurfacing of the entire bridge deck. "

The Queen Elizabeth bridge, across the River Lagan, opened in 1966. Part of a one-way system, it is used by outward traffic heading towards the Sydenham bypass (for north Down), east Belfast, Newtownards and the Ards Peninsula.
