SK6972 : Haughton Chapel, now sadly forgotten and left to the ravages of time

taken 19 years ago, near to Bevercotes, Nottinghamshire, England

Haughton Chapel, now sadly forgotten and left to the ravages of time.
Haughton Chapel, now sadly forgotten and left to the ravages of time.
The earliest reference to the chapel is from the 1100s, which shows there was already a community established here well before then. Right up until at least 1915 only the roof was missing, Unfortunately the last 50 years have seen this little gem reduced to not much more than a pile of stones.
