Further to the north east from D4202 : The Quarterlands Road, Islandmagee (4) and slightly higher, there is this view, from the Quarterlands Road, across the Ferris Bay Road D4302 : The Ferris Bay Road, Islandmagee (5), Larne golf course D4203 : Golf course, Islandmagee (2), and the entrance to Larne Lough, towards Ballygally Head D3808 : Ballygally Head near Larne and D3808 : Ballygally Head near Larne (2) (upper right) and the Antrim coast.

The Quarterlands Road, Islandmagee :: D4202

A metalled minor road running from the Ballylumford Road towards Brown’s Bay. About half-way along the motor road ends but the route continues as a narrow path. The highest point is some 150ft above sea level and has pleasant views towards Larne and the Antrim and Galloway coasts. There is convenient parking at Ballylumford harbour and Brown’s Bay. Part of it is very steep.

Islandmagee countryside

Officially described by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency as comprising “a series of ridges which run north-south, culminating at sheer basalt cliffs along the eastern coastline.” Irrespective of the technical jargon Islandmagee has pleasant scenery.
