The geology of this part of the Beara Peninsula manifests itself as a series of parallel ridges and depressions. The ridges occasionally end in sharp inland cliff faces such as these. The roads unsurprisingly run parallel to the ridges. This road forms part of the way-marked Beara Way Cycle Route.
