The Waterworks Museum, Hereford - beam engine
A single column, single cylinder rotative beam pumping engine that is on loan from the National Museum of Wales. It was built in 1851 by Harvey of Hayle, Cornwall and used at Ely Pumping Station, Cardiff where it worked for about a century. The cylinder is 20" x 42" and the flywheel is 12' diameter. It was on display and motor driven at the Welsh Industrial & Maritime Museum, Cardiff until its untimely closure.
