Sign, Land of Green Ginger, Hull
What must be one of the most splendidly-named streets in the country has to be seen to be believed. Its derivation is unclear, but may refer to the selling of ginger in the medieval period, a corruption of the name of a prominent local merchant, or a corruption of 'Landgrave Granger', meaning a walk or pathway approaching the home of the family Landgrave. Information from Wikipedia.
