taken 18 years ago, near to Strond, Isle of Lewis And Harris, Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Scotland

Croft near Rodel
Croft near Rodel
The croft is on its own feu, surrounded by the expanse of common grazing on which the sheep graze at will. The scars left by former peat banks on the slopes beyond the croft, indicate that peat is a source of fuel. The boat hauled up by the shore, shows that fishing is also a part of the crofter's economy.
