The "Jetliner" at Larne
The "Jetliner" at Larne
The “Jetliner” was a high-speed monohull ferry built in Norway in 1996. She operated a one hour crossing to Cairnryan. Not the most reliable of vessels and more affected by windy conditions than catamarans, the best that can be said is that she allowed P&O to enter the high speed market pending the arrival of the very successful “Superstar Express” D4102 : The "Superstar Express" at Larne.
One advantage of monohull construction was bow and aft vehicle loading. In this case the ferry is going astern off the quay with the 09.00 sailing to Cairnryan.
