NN9947 : Fallen giants at Dalguise

Fallen giants at Dalguise
Fallen giants at Dalguise
The trees are part of an avenue of lime trees that used to run from Dalguise Village up to Dalguise House. Those in Dalguise House grounds were felled almost 50 years ago, along with those on the other side of the minor road from these. Sadly with two gone in a month, both showing signs of rot in the roots, we are going to have to remove the other seven. I measured the second tree that fell - 43.5 metres, root to tip. They will be much missed.
