First traverse on the new Norton Triangle by a steam loco
First traverse on the new Norton Triangle by a steam loco
During the West Somerset Railway's Spring Steam Gala, locomotive No. 70000, Britannia, became the first steam loco to completely traverse the newly completed triangle at Norton Fitzwarren. It is seen here from the nearby road to Allerford exchanging "greetings" (whistle/horn) with a Plymouth bound Voyager on the West of England main line.
The village of Bishops Hull can be seen beyond the main line.
