ST8008 : Wessex Ridgeway

taken 18 years ago, near to Ibberton, Dorset, England

Wessex Ridgeway
Wessex Ridgeway
The view is looking south-west towards Ibberton Hill. The Wessex Ridgeway runs for 219 km from Marlborough in Wiltshire to Lyme Regis on the Dorset Coast across some of the country's finest chalk downland and through some of the best-preserved landscape in the south of England. It is also a landscape rich in archaeological sites and in literary associations - this is the heart both of the ancient kingdom of Wessex and of Hardy country.
