taken 12 years ago, near to Frocester, Gloucestershire, England

Estate barn, Frocester Court
Estate barn, Frocester Court
Medieval estate barn constructed sometime between 1284 and 1306 and re-roofed following a fire in c1525. It is 186' long internally by 30' wide and 36' to the ridge. Some 700 years on it still fulfills its original function and the owners will very kindly allow visitors inside to see the roof and the driveshaft of the buried Whitelaw and Sturritt water turbine. It is particularly requested that visitors do not smoke.
