Columns and arches
Columns and arches
One of the two rows of cast iron columns supporting the Macclesfield Bridge across the Regents Canal - see TQ2783 : Castings from Coalbrookdale for the others. The small arches spanning between the columns are probably not structurally needed but are a nice architectural touch.
Regent's Canal

The Regent's Canal is a nine-mile man-made stretch of water connecting the Grand Union Canal at Little Venice to the River Thames. The first section of the canal from Little Venice was opened in 1816 and the final section at Limehouse Basin in 1820. The canal has 13 sets of locks.
