Scolt Head Island Traverse 4a: Landward Panorama
Scolt Head Island Traverse 4a: Landward Panorama
From the top of the high dunes,Link this is the view southwards over salt-marshes and towards Burnham Norton and Brancaster Staithe on terra firma. At the end of the dune line, the outline of the warden's cottage can just be seen.

Please note: The crossing of Scolt Head Island from end to end is perfectly possible but only with careful planning and a knowledge of the tides. Do not attempt the crossing unless you are fit and know when it is low tide in the area. Cross on a falling tide and be prepared for deep mud in places at the western end.
