Dromdihy House (1)
Dromdihy House (1)
Yet another mansion lying abandoned in the Irish countryside. Dromdihy House was built in 1833 by Roger Green Davis in the Greek Revival style, and unusually the grand entrance is at the side ornamented with a portico and Doric columns. After a succession of new owners in the C20, the house became uninhabitable, and in 1944 the roof was removed to avoid the payment of rates. The house deteriorated over the ensuing years, until it eventually became a ruin.
